Linda: Welcome, this is a page we are going to dedicate to our travels to the KOA's around the country. My husband Phil and I just "won" a l992 conversion van on Ebay, joined the KOA and are ready to explore. We will include photos of each of the campgrounds that we visit and a brief commentary of what we loved and hated. Although we have tent camped or stayed in the cabins at the KOA, this is our first "conversion" camper experience. Our first stay was at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa, Pescadero, CA 94060. It is beautifully situated between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay, the views and the landscape can not be beat. Our first "camping" experience was educational, we learned a great deal about organization. Besides my husband and myself, we travel with our 16 year old dog, Judy. Fitting all we "thought" we needed into the camper was a trick, and of course after our first night, we reassessed what we "really needed" and started to down size. My first impression of the campground was the natural beauty of the site. We had reserved an ocean view space which at first we were a little disappointed with. -- After getting parked and adjusting to not having a grill at our space (they have picnic areas), we started to settle in. We did indeed have an ocean view, as well as a view of a green grass area, where families played. The amenities at the park are awesome, there is a nice restaurant, the bathrooms are very nice and the lodge looked beautiful. Besides the ocean view space there were also RV spaces with lovely trees and a deck space. The tent camping area was green grass and was picturesque. There was a farm area and a horse stables, as well as bike rentals. They also rented furnished camping tents that were situated in very nice locations, a beautiful lodge and camping cabins that had great views. This coastline is awesome, elephant seals, state park trails and a lighthouse. I would definitely refer my friends to this KOA. Santa Cruz North / Costanoa Phil: I think this was a nice park and well maintained. My only small complaint was that the store did not have all of the camping supplies available that one might need. I am comparing this shop to comparable KOA's shops, I was just not as satisfied. Lots of gift and spa items, we were looking more for necessities. The views at this park are beautiful in both directions, ocean and hills.
