Elk City / Clinton Oklahoma KOA

Linda:  This was just a quick stop for a night stay and I think that is exactly what I would recommend for this campground.  We checked in late and checked out very early.  No photos - the website has photos that show exactly what to expect.  I didn't use the facilities but it was a small KOA and I would recommend it for exactly what we used it for, spending the night.

Phil:  Roadside stop, we had a great meal, a good nights sleep and on to the new day.

Las Vegas, Nevada KOA Circus Circus

Linda:  Fun!  We didn't know what to expect when we arrived at this KOA.  It was the holidays, we made an unexpected visit and it turned out fabulous.  This was our first time camping in Vegas and it was wild and fun.  The campground is on the grounds of the Circus, Circus Hotel and Casino.  We walked the strip, checked out all the casinos and had the best time.  The campground is nice, the bathrooms could have used a little care, but all in all it was a wonderful experience.  They have some airstreams that they rent out and they looked very nice.  I will definitely visit this KOA again.

Phil:  Perfect location on strip, bathrooms needed to be maintained, I walked in and walked out because it was dirty.  Nice staff, great shop and even though I was sick during the time I was there, I had the time of my life.  They also had a dog wash in addition to a great pool and a covered playground.

Avila / Pismo Beach, California KOA

Linda:  Avila/Pismo Beach KOA was a small, cute and wonderful campground.  Clean, attractive and in a perfect locale, we enjoyed it very much.  The bathroom was large, clean but very cold.  We visited during the off season and it was brisk outside.  The facilities at this campground were all very nice and well maintained.  I would definitely recommend this campground very highly.   http://koa.com/campgrounds/avila/

Phil:  Very nice property, very well maintained.  Bathrooms were large and clean.  Being a tall person I enjoyed the large showers, just wish it had been heated.

Flagstaff Arizona KOA

Linda:  The Flagstaff KOA has been my favorite so far.   This campground is beautiful, is well maintained with a great staff.  We arrived late our first night, it was just before Christmas,  and the grounds were decorated and looked oh so inviting.  We had a wonderful spot right next to the laundry and bathrooms.  The facilities at this site are more than clean, the bathrooms were warm, spotless and well designed.  We stayed 2 nights, went to the Grand Canyon and I must say the location of this park is great.  You are close to Sedona, old Route 66, the Grand Canyon and many more beautiful, fun outdoor activities.  We loved it so much, on our way back home, we stayed 2 more days and enjoyed more local beauty.  I love this campground and plan on staying many more time

Placerville, Ca KOA

Linda:  I have mixed emotions about our stay in the Placerville, Ca KOA.  The grounds were beautiful, location perfect, we had a good time.  As a person who has spend some of my career as a property manager - the maintenance on the property needed a little work.  We had problems with surging electric at our site, the bathrooms were not very comfortable and it seems they needed to empty the sewer because they had a very undesirable smell.  The grounds themselves were beautiful, but there was piles of "stuff" all over the place.  They had tent sites that are so incredible and then you looked across to a giant pile of pallets off to the side.  With a small amount of work, the property could be outstanding.  There was a little noise from the highway, but the convenient location made up for that.
Placerville itself is a great little city with wonderful history, the drive to Lake Tahoe is some of the prettiest country I have ever seen.  I would hesitate to recommend this property, I guess if you had a little warning about the small bathrooms that smelled pretty bad, the rest of the property is lovely. http://www.koa-placerville.com/

Phil:  This property definitely needed maintenance.  It was a very beautiful property but it was being ruined by the lack maintenance.  Dog poop was everywhere, we have not run into that at any other property.  It has untold amounts of potential with just a little work
